Fall Semester 2003

The overall goal of this course is to present the fundamentals of thermodynamics from a chemical engineering point of view. Students will understand the first and second laws of thermodynamics and will apply these laws towards analyzing various processes including those involving phase changes, closed systems and flow systems, and power generation and refrigeration. Students will also continue to sharpen their problem-solving skills, to apply mathematical tools and Excel to solving problems, and to document their solutions.
