Atlantic Highlands High School
Class of 1958 Reunion
Peter Donahue's "news" and "tidbits"

Although some of you may already know
this, I was informed today by his ex-wife, Betty Lou,
that our class advisor and history teacher, William
F.X. Connell, passed away on or about Sept. 17, 2007,
in Florida, where he lived. I have no other details

I was really planning on coming to NJ in Aug for the reunion, That
is until I got a call from my oldest son Bruce. He asked me to please
come to Key West on April 2 to attend his wedding. The way the price of
gas has gone up so high we could only make one big trip this year and
guess which on I choose. We just came back Fri. had a great time in
Key West and Big Pine were they live. Just wanted you to know that I am
really sorry I will not be attending the reunion. It always seems
to be something that comes up to prevent me coming north
I am sure you will all have a good time. Also sorry to hear of Mr
Connels passing. I filled the info paper this morning and it is in the mail.
Take care and I"ll be thinking of you and all the rest of my class mates
Talk to you soon . My Love Fay Novak Aldridge.

FRIENDS & CLASSMATES: Although we, the Class of 1958, are holding our
50th Reunion on Aug. 2nd at the Shore Casino, I have been asked to notify
you that the Class of 1948 (yup, '48) is conducting an all-classes AHHS
reunion starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 6th, also at the Shore Casino.
The event, like ours, is $50 a person.
You can learn more about it by calling up their website:
You may contact them directly by e-mail at
They, like us, are anxious to have a good turnout so you are encouraged
to notify any AHHS graduates you know.

Dear FRIENDS: I am saddened to report that Joe Glynn, husband of AHHS '58
classmate Beverly Brittingham Glynn, passed away yesterday after a length
illness. Beverly's address, phone number and e-mail address follow:
Mrs. Joseph Glynn,
80 Wesley Ave
. Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716
732 291-3760,

CLASSMATES: Had a lengthy and delightful conversation with Ann Malkames
this evening. Most Atlantic Highlands kids will remember her but, for those
who don't, she was a long-time 7th & 8th grade teacher in Atlantic and
later at Henry Hudson. She's been retired for some time and is now 82.
She is sharp as can be and full of life but, because she is suffering from
debilitating arthritis, she probably won't make any of our reunion events,
although she says she'll work on it.
In any case, she has fond memories of our class, sends her best to all
and would very much like to hear from and/or see any and/or all of us.
Her address is:
Miss Ann Malkames
283B Spring Street
Red Bank, NJ 07701
Her phone number is 732 842-2672. She would be delighted if any of you
decided to visit her, asking only that you call in advance.

On the subject of old teachers, just found out today that John Patterson
and his wife Elena live in Florida. Some will recall that he replaced
William F.X. Connell for our last few months in high school both as history
teeacher and class adviser. Somewhere along the line, Patterson became an
Episcopal priest, something from which he is now retired.
If anyone would like to contact him:
