Atmospheric circulation, atmospheric boundary layer winds, bluff-body aerodynamics, introduction to random vibration theory, response of structures to fluctuating wind loads, aeroelastic phenomena, wind-tunnel and full-scale testing, non-synoptic winds (hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.), wind-load standards and design applications. Course details (see Blackboard).

  • Bridge Design (CIVG 352). TBA

Undergraduate Courses

  • Steel Design (CIVU 425). Design of steel members subject to tension, compression, bending, and combinations of loading. Design of connections, braced frames, and rigid frames. Design is based on the latest Load Resistance Factor Design Specifications of the American Institute for Steel Construction code. Course details (see Blackboard).
